What's a gourd.... Gourds come from the Cucurbitaceous family. This family boasts a tendril-bearing both male and female blossoms. The vine produces a fruit with an outer-shell covering and seed embedded within a pulp.
There are two types of Gourds, the ornmental and the hard shell. The hard shell gourd when dries does not rot. It's outer skin dries similar to wood.
